I am a postdoctoral fellow at UCLA's Department of Urban Planning, funded by a National Science Foundation SBE Postdoctoral Research Fellowship. Previously, I was the Pollman Postdoctoral Fellow in Real Estate and Urban Development at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design. I completed my PhD in geography at the University of Toronto. I also have an MA degree in Latin American Studies from UCLA and a BA in history from UC Berkeley.

My research interests are inequality, economic development, migration, segregation, and globalization. Broadly, my research centers on the drivers of disparities in economic opportunity across and within U.S. cities.

I am a first-generation college student, was a community college transfer, and came into academia through an unconventional path. These experiences strongly inform my teaching, research and service approaches and interests.
